Where it started

It started with an idea.

My name is Victor Bautala, and I am the founder of IMMINENT X STUDIOS.

I started IMMINENT X STUDIOS because I believe that great ideas can come from anywhere, including right here in Malawi.

I am a young, self-taught developer. I do not have a formal academic qualification in computer science or software development. My journey into technology has come through curiosity, experimentation, learning, practice, mistakes and, most importantly, building.

I have had ideas in my head and wanted to turn those ideas into something real. I have spent time learning how technology works, experimenting with different tools and teaching myself how to build. I am still learning today. And I think that is an important part of my story.

Why we exist

I wanted to build something of my own.

At first, I wanted a place where I could showcase my own projects and give people the opportunity to discover what I am building.

But the vision became bigger than just me.

I started thinking about the many young people in Malawi who know how to use technology, write code, design, create applications and solve problems. Some may have incredible ideas but simply don't have enough exposure or a platform to showcase them.

That is one of the reasons I wanted to build IMMINENT X STUDIOS. I want it to become a place where ideas can be discovered.

03 / Malawi has talent

Malawi has talent.

I believe there are incredibly talented people in Malawi whose ideas have never been seen by the world. Maybe there is a young developer somewhere in Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, Zomba or a small community somewhere else in Malawi who is working on an idea that could change people's lives.

Maybe our own Mark Zuckerberg.

Maybe our own Elon Musk.

Maybe the next one is someone whose name we don't know yet.

Maybe someone whose name we don't know yet is going to build something that millions of people will one day use. And I believe we should create an environment where those people have the opportunity to be discovered.

The turning point

I don't want to wait for someone else to build it.

But I don't want to wait for someone else to build that environment.

I want to start building it myself.

IMMINENT X STUDIOS is therefore more than just a website for me. It represents a beginning.

You can start with a laptop.

You can start with an idea.

You can start from Malawi.

And you can dream much bigger than your surroundings.

I also want people to know that you don't have to come from Silicon Valley to build technology that matters. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. You can start where you are. You can learn as you go. You can make mistakes. You can improve. And you can keep building.

Still learning, still building

I'm still learning. I'm still building.

I am still learning. I am still experimenting. I make mistakes. Some of my projects will succeed, and others may not.

But I believe that building is how we learn, and putting our ideas into the world is how we give them a chance to become something greater.

I don't want IMMINENT X STUDIOS to represent perfection. I want it to represent progress.

Bigger than me

This cannot just be about me.

Today, I am showcasing my own projects. Tomorrow, I hope to showcase the projects of many other developers, designers, creators and innovators.

I want IMMINENT X STUDIOS to become a place where people can discover ideas that they may never have found otherwise.

Maybe one day, someone will discover a project on this platform that becomes something much bigger than anyone expected. If that happens, I would be proud to know that IMMINENT X STUDIOS played even a small part in that journey.

A beginning, not an ending.

I am Victor Bautala. I am a young developer from Malawi, still learning, still building and still dreaming.

I may not have started with formal qualifications in software development. I started with curiosity. I started with ideas. I started by learning. And I started building.

This is my beginning. And I hope that, with time, IMMINENT X STUDIOS can become a beginning for many others too.
